George Tossan’s musical career
began over 35 years ago, in the era of Doors, Steely
Dan, CSNY, James Taylor, and of course, The Beatles.
As a young teenager playing in several rock and
accoustic-rock bands, he pursued playing amateur
contests and charity concerts. Soon his band made
in-roads to gigs at nightclubs, larger concerts, and
eventually television. This musical journey went on
a hiatus when a university education got in the way,
but now after a long wait, George has finally
arrived at his “second life” - having worked a long
career as a finance professional, he has recently
retired to continue his life passion in music while
pursuing part time consulting.
George has worked and traveled
around the four corners of the world, he has now
settled in Scottsdale, Arizona, In 2002 he began to
get back into music. Soon, he had completed an
elaborate recording studio in his home and began
creative experiments in musical compositions as well
as sound engineering to master the latest DAW-based
digital and analog techniques.
The results so far has been the
production of 4 albums, 2 of which feature his
original compositions - Second Life, released in
fall 2002, and Hold Nothing Back, released in
October 2003, +3bd, released in 2004. The Lifeless
Riot album, a band he formed, played and produced
for was released in August 2006. The latest album
was as co-writer and producer on Nicole Cassese's
Album - Everybody Get Free, released in 2009.
George’s musical style is
influenced by both his deep roots while growing up
with the music of James Taylor, CSNY, Doors, Joni
Mitchell, The Beatles, America, Cream, Fleetwood
Mac, as well as more current work of Radiohead, John
Mayer, Coldplay, U2, Shinns, Duncan Sheik and may
others. It seems all these years in sabatical has
stored up inside him tremendous musical energy and
creativity. His songs seem to pour out in unending
gushes, each song touches a deep and personal part
of his life. His songs are both musical and lyrical,
some are infused by George’s passion for the
acoustical guitar, some his penchant for drum and
beat. George’s musical versatility extends beyond
the norm … he is comfortable behind a set of drums,
a bass, an accoustic, electric or even classical
guitar, and a keyboard. In many of his work he has
been a one-man band playing all parts, producing,
mixing, engineering, and mastering. His melodic
vocal style resonates through many of his work and
reach deep.
George loves to record and produce
for young indie artists and has garnered many tools
and techniques to help these artists get their music
out and their careers launched.
